Because you all deserve it... a recap of the last five months of my life!
Terrence lost his job in October of last year at the VA... he found temp work at a video store around the beginning of the year for a few weeks. Shortly afterwards Terrence found temp working for a bank that actually uses his abilities- computer tech work. He's still working there and will be for at least another month or two. We both hope it'll be more because we desperately need a car and are still insanely bogged down by all the bills that piled up back when Terrence was jobless last year.
I stopped drawing Fur Will Fly for a variety of reasons, the largest and main one being that it was stressful and far more time consuming that I first anticipated. Taking on the duties of drawing it was the reason I stopped drawing Dealing With it...I just didn't have the time or energy at the end of the day to work on this comic. FWF took me a lot more time and took far more out of me (physically and especially mentally) than I ever expected... It was my own fault, I really shouldn't have taken it on and assumed that people would be able to accept that I was drawing it. I'm feeling allot better now, I no longer randomly start crying while drawing (which had nothing to do with Brian but other people and things in relation to the comic).
Since then I've been focusing my full attention to my own work and trying to make sure we can have some sort of savings for when Terry looks for more permanent work (and doing a really bad job at it due to all the bills). I'm also trying to find time to work on Namir Deiter Book 2 but can't seem to find the time.
We stopped going to the Comic's Factory because of one too many times where the workers didn't give a damn about our questions and it would take ten minutes just to find a parking space that wasn't taken up by a homeless person and for a half an hour drive, I'd rather just subscribe to the comics I like or just order comics on-line. The only comic we really cared enough about to subscribe to was Knights of the Dinner Table. Everything else can be bought on-line, when they come out.
I'm watching American Idol now... and Fran's new show makes me sad. |
